Recapture (2024)

Recapture is a surround sound (octophonic) electronic composition which was presented at a Postgraduate Researcher's Concert at the University of Liverpool (06/12/2024). This work begins with imitations of popular music styles (pop punk, 80s pop, 70s psychedlia) and which are systematically de-constructed and then collectively re-built. Beginning with an attempt at re-creating the past ultimately fails and the subsequent re-constructions imagines a hyper-real past which simultaneously embraces nostalgia but constructs utopian images around it. 

Temporal Dislocation (2024)

Temporal Dislocation is a surround (octophonic) work consisting of 8 pieces previewed at a showcase at the University of Liverpool. All pieces pieces are all audio-visual collages emerging from diverse research into the application of nostalgia in composition.

Anemoia (2024)

Anemoia is a surround work consisting of 5 pieces previewed at a showcase at the University of Liverpool. The five pieces are all audio-visual collages. The work explores concepts of nostalgia relating directly to the composer's research. The programme notes are available here. Mechanics of Environment (2023)

This is a 8 channel surround piece that was performed in the Tung Auditorium on 24.05.2023. The piece explores concepts of nature and technology. The first section of the piece represents nature, the second section represents technology, and the final section represents the ultimate and enevitable co-existance of nature and technology. The last section featured an Arduino programmed glove that was used to pan sound around the 8 speakers. On the right is a stereo mix-down of this performance.
